Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer, has won numerous prizes and grants. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments all over the world on policy and studies related to way children are treated by the justice system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's three divisions that include Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families policy and practice.
